Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons envisioned spring and summer in silk, leather and lace, and the Prada S/S22 collection was shown simultaneously at Milan Fashion Week and Shanghai. The duo thought of seduction and elegance when designing the looks. Bright orange and lime miniskirts come with wide trains. The skirts are combined with sweaters with built-in corsetry, minimalist leather jackets or long coats with a Matrix vibe. Additionally, demure midi dresses come unbuttoned at the back, cheekily revealing a hint of underwear. And a stunning midi dress comes in scarlet red lace.

Max Mara’s Spring Summer 2022 collection is inspired by the French author Françoise Sagan’s summer of 1950. The elegantly tailored outfits evoke classic workwear and sunlit beaches. The collection comes in sandy hues, tan, blue, and black, enhanced by yellow and orange pieces.

Colville’s Lucinda Chambers and Molly Molloy partnered with artist Blue Farrier to upcycle fabrics from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s for the joyous SS22 looks we saw at Milan Fashion Week. The sustainable collection with a bohemian vibe comes with clean and sculptural silhouettes in bold colour-blocking and prints.

Perfect for the chic Milanese women, Loro Piana presented at Milan Fashion Week an SS22 collection in clay hues and yellow that you can take from the office to the Riviera. The classic and timeless silhouettes are crafted in silk, cashmere, and unique fabric that the brand spins from lotus plants.

Brunello Cucinelli showed one of the best collections for chic Italian tailoring at Milan Fashion Week SS22. “Sexy. Beautiful quality. Exclusively produced. Garments you would never think of throwing away“, described the designer who mixed luxurious pieces with a touch of sportswear. In short, we loved the feather-trimmed sweaters and raffia cardigans, the paillette-coated dresses and suits, and the platform boat-shoes.

The fashion brand, known for its dresses with fantastic vintage prints, is another high note of our Milan Fashion Week SS22 overview. For this collection, La DoubleJ expanded and also presented trousers, swimsuits, and solid pieces to mix and match.

Designer Francesco Risso chose stripes and daisies as Marni SS22 central motifs for the Milan Fashion Week. So, there are Breton ponchos, shawls and caftans with a hand-made feel. We also saw slim dresses and oversized blazers in rugby stripes. Finally, dresses and skirts made like a patchwork of giant child-like daisies embroidered together, signalling new beginnings; quite fitting for our post-pandemic times.
