Ski season and Prada Linea Rossa A/W 2020 Featuring Gus Kenworthy.

As we get inspired by the new Prada Linea Rossa A/W 2020 skiwear campaign, European heads of state discuss whether we will have a ski season at all due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Skiing in the Alpine region during the pandemic

Although nothing can be really predicted in 2020, here’s the current situation in a nutshell. The German Chancellor Angela Merkel wants to close all skiing areas in Europe. Italy won’t reopen until at least the 10th of January. And Austria wants to start the ski season earlier, and Switzerland refuses to close its ski resorts.

One thing is for sure, we will have to follow several rules if we want (and are allowed) to ski this year. The most obvious changes will be distancing rules, mask requirements in all closed spaces, including ski lift gondolas, and disinfectant dispensers. Additionally, one can expect a curfew for restaurants and, of course, no après-ski parties in the 20/21 ski season.

To ski in the Black Forest, for example, you’ll be only able to buy online lift tickets to avoid queues. Additionally, there’s a 10-day quarantine. But while we wait to know more about the ski season in the next few days, let’s have a look at Prada Linea Rossa A/W 2020 campaign to start choosing new skiwear.

The campaign and Gus Kenworthy

Photographed by Vanina Sorrenti, the A/W 2020 campaign for Prada Linea Rossa features the champion British-American freestyle skier Gus Kenworthy. He won a silver medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics for the US. Since 2019, the skier has represented Great Britain, winning earlier this year a gold medal in the Ski World Cup. Besides skiing, Kenworthy is also an actor. He has appeared, for example, in the TV series American Horror Story and Will & Grace.

Prada Linea Rossa A/W 2020

The Italian fashion house Prada launched Linea Rossa in 1997, combining style and high-performance sports.

The sleek Linea Rossa skiwear is designed using technical innovation to perform under the most extreme circumstances. Prada developed, for example, a triple-layer textile, Extreme-Tex, that is used in jackets and trousers. By the way, Prada Linea Rossa A/W 2020 collection is so stylish; the garments will keep you warm not only for high-impact sports but also in the city.
