Work outfits Inspired by the stylist and #MangoGirl Chiara Totire

Chiara Totire is the very definition of cool. The Italian stylist has a knack for putting together fabulous outfits that are at the same time über-chic and seriously laid-back.

Her style is a mix of masculine, rock &r roll and vintage pieces. You will see her in jeans, blazers and oversized coats as well as in boho flowing dresses and leather skirts paired with trekking boots; the shoes you need now. And regardless of what she’s wearing, you can be sure that there will be plenty of layering of garments and jewellery. With the right combinations, the styling pro manages to make affordable clothes look more expensive than they really are.

Totire’s family owns a pharmacy in Puglia, Italy. Her future was already mapped out; the stylish woman graduated as a pharmacist, as her parents expected of her. But after getting her degree, she decided to follow her true passion, fashion. She moved to Milan and started working as a stylist assistant for the Italian weekly magazines, Gioia and Grazia.

After three years, she caught Anna Dello Russo’s attention, who invited her to join Vogue Nippon’s team. It is common to spot the two stylish women heading together to the various fashion week shows. Totire always wears her signature long brown hair down and no-makeup makeup, which, by the way, gives her the effortless chicness and modernity we so admire.

The Milan-based It-Girl, who’s also one of the #MangoGirls, says in her daily uniform are pieces from the L.A.-based label, RtA, that makes sweaters with the best cashmere in the world, and good quality leather jackets, tops and jeans. She also loves Dior and Attico.

Besides her work as a stylist at Vogue Japan, the influencer did a collaboration with a label from Ecuador, Sensi Studio, designing a capsule collection of handbags that are handmade by local artisans.

According to Anna Dello Russo’s right-hand and street style star, “comfortable elegance is the most elegant in the world”; we couldn’t agree more!

We love Totire’s styling tricks; here, for example, she pairs a sequin dress with an oversized plaid jacket to dress down the silver cocktail dress and wear it during day-time. Her Instagram account with almost 70k followers is an excellent source of fashion inspiration for cool yet chic office outfits and party looks.
