The best menswear outfits from the streets of Paris #PFW Fall 2022

Street style of a man smoking outside Fendi runway, wearing a lambskin coat

We’re always looking forward to the street style during Fashion Week, and at PFW Fall 2022, men showcased some great looks to inspire us. In short, we saw an XXL Paris Fashion Week, with stylish men in oversized style jackets, bold colours, and exaggerated prints and hue combinations. The ’70s and ’80s were very much alive in the streets of Paris, and show-goers completed the best menswear outfits with accessories like trapper hats, beanies, baseball caps, bags, and silk scarfs. Additionally, the logomania trend is back, and hairstyles made a statement in the French capital.

Focus on bold Jackets

Of all the menswear pieces, men’s jackets were undoubtedly the best street style heroes at Paris Fashion Week. They are bold in cut and colours. The ’80s leather Aviators come embellished with tigers to celebrate the New Year of the Tiger or covered in fashion brands’ logos. Retro bomber jackets are also trendy, especially bright yellow or electric blue. But the fashion crowd also wore puffers and classic jackets to attend Dior Homme, Kenzo, Rick Owens, and Versace shows.

Chocolate Monochrome

The chocolate brown trend was also present in many looks. For example, the Mohammed and Humaid twins, TikTok fashion stars from Dubai, and the Austrian fashion editor Jean-Claude chose monochrome brown looks, playing with different shades. Additionally, sleek, long coats elevate the men’s cool street style outfits, completed with hoodies and sneakers at Paris Fashion Week menswear.

70s vintage style

Among the best street-style moments in Paris, we found the ’70s-inspired menswear outfits to be the coolest. For example, the retro knit turtleneck paired with wide-leg pants and a timeless long coat. Nevertheless, the striped beanie and bright green bag add a twist to the classic black look. Additionally, silk scarves are very cool for men, but instead of wearing them on your head, you can wrap a scarf around your neck like a bandana in a more easy-to-wear, Rock & Roll style. Genderless fashion in the parisian streets

Overall, the street style in Paris is always contemporary hence several men wore genderless outfits like skirts paired with classic menswear staples.

Let your dandy side comes out

From bold colours like bright green to classic plaid menswear mixed with other prints, furry jackets, and striped flares, the street style outfits in Paris were fun and exuberant, perfect for your inner Dandy. Additionally, silk scarves are very cool for men, but instead of wearing them on your head, you can wrap a scarf around your neck like a bandana in a more easy-to-wear, Rock & Roll style.

Relaxed elegance

But we also saw a relaxed elegance in the streets of Paris, maybe inspired by the typical outfit style men wear in the City of Lights. These tonal looks and sleek leather jackets with minimalist hoodies or classic button-down shirts make fantastic office outfits. More is more

If you are the more-is-more style of men, this outfit is for you. Louis Vuitton’s model looked fab in a shaggy fur jacket and matching moon boots that he wore with black leather pants, a white shirt and a thin tie. Not the most wearable outfit, but definitely a fun street style look I could see the young David Bowie wearing.

Braids and Babyliss

Besides seeing all sorts of menswear in the streets, the hairstyle of fashionistas took centre stage at Paris Fashion Week. Both men and women sported braids and ethnic locks, making a cultural statement. But we also spotted a comeback of the ’80s cuts, so get your Babyliss ready!

#PFW menswear asks for strong women

Finally, the menswear shows also brought women with strong styles to the streets of Paris. Among them were Lena Mahfouz, Paola Locatelli, Isabelle Huppert, and Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, the French actress who plays the chic Sylvie Grateu in Emily in Paris.
